Privacy policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]. This policy covers tenthhourlabs.com, The Tenth Hour newsletter, and the checkout and booking pages linked from this site. It is written in plain language so you can tell what we do with your information.
Who we are
Tenth Hour Labs LLC is a Michigan limited liability company owned by Harrison Huijskens. Postal address: PO Box TODO, East Lansing, MI. Email: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
We collect only what the service you use needs. Nothing else.
| When you | We collect | To |
|---|---|---|
| Subscribe to the newsletter or request the free kit | Email address, and your first name if you give it | Send the newsletter and the kit download link |
| Enroll in the cohort or pay for a setup session | Name, email address, and the payment details you give to Stripe | Deliver what you bought, send receipts and session details, verify student status if you use the student price |
| Buy the paid kit | Name, email address, country, and the payment details you give to Polar | Deliver the kit, invite you to the private repository, handle sales tax as Polar requires |
| Book a call or a session | Name, email address, the time you choose, and anything you type in the booking notes | Hold the slot, send reminders, prepare for the session |
| Email us | Whatever your message contains | Reply to you |
| Visit the site | Aggregate, cookie-free analytics (page views, country, browser type) | See which pages are read. No individual is identified. |
We never see your full card number. Stripe and Polar handle payment data under their own policies. We receive only what we need to fulfill the order: your name, email, what you bought and whether the payment succeeded.
Do not send client-confidential material through this site, the newsletter or a booking form. Firm and client information is handled only under a signed agreement, on the firm's own systems.
Who processes it for us
These services store or process personal information on our behalf. Each one is bound by its own privacy policy and terms, linked here so you can read them.
- Kit (newsletter and free kit delivery):kit.com/privacy
- Stripe (cohort, setup session and invoice payments):stripe.com/privacy
- Polar (paid kit checkout, as merchant of record):polar.sh/legal/privacy
- Cloudflare (hosting and cookie-free web analytics):cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Proton (email, calendar, booking pages and video sessions):proton.me/legal/privacy
Cohort materials live in a private GitHub repository. Joining it means GitHub processes your account information under GitHub's privacy statement.
Who else receives it
No one, with three exceptions. The processors above receive what they need to do their job. We will disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena. And if Tenth Hour Labs is ever sold or merged, the subscriber list and customer records would go with it. You would be told by email first. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own. The newsletter signup form is provided by Kit and may set cookies. See Kit's privacy policy. Analytics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. Checkout and booking pages run on Stripe, Polar and Proton, which may set cookies that their own policies describe.
Do Not Track: because the site does not track visitors across sites, it has nothing to turn off, and it does not change its behavior in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal. The third-party pages linked above handle that signal under their own policies.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe. The unsubscribe link is in every email.
- Customer records and receipts: seven years, for tax and accounting.
- Booking details and intake answers: two years after the engagement ends, then deleted.
- Session and cohort recordings: deleted once the written recap is done.
- Email correspondence: as long as it is useful for answering you, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email[email protected] from the address you want us to act on. We answer within 30 days. We may keep records the law requires us to keep, such as receipts, and we will say so if that applies.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state with its own privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a regulator. We will honor them. For California residents, this policy is our disclosure under the California Online Privacy Protection Act. The "PRIVACY" link in the footer of every page brings you here.
Children
The site and every paid offer are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Personal information lives in the services listed above, each behind access controls and encryption in transit. We use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication on every account that holds your data. No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you by email and notify authorities where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced by email to customers and in the newsletter. Earlier versions are available on request.
